It all started with 3 friends…
The first time we all met was on August 7th 2016. The next day we set out to drive a full loop of Planet Earth in 1 year. In a £75 car…
Yes, this was a nearly impossible challenge.
Yes, we were insane to attempt it.
But we made it! And this is how…
Oh yes! It wasn’t just the 3 of us! Not even for a second!
From the get go, we encouraged people from all over the world to join us on this crazy challenge! Who was welcome? EVERYONE!
Friends of friends
Hitchhikers on the side of the road
Strangers we found on the internet
And anyone else that happened across us!
10 different vehicles and OVER 100 awesome, beautiful, crazy people joined us in this ridiculous challenge and we all learnt and grew from each other!
People stayed long as they could: whether it was a day, a month or a year! Although certain folks would say “oh just 1 week” but end up staying 7 months… Lucas!!
Did you struggle?
Yes. A lot. But whenever we couldn’t overcome an obstacle ourselves, someone always offered to help. From Kazakhstani oil workers to Peruvian Salt miners, long lost friends to newly-met strangers, people were more willing to help out than we ever could have imagined… and this legitimately changed how we saw the world.
We started to realise: In this modern life with so much ‘screen time’ and constant scaremongering from the media trying to convince you to fear those who are different, we too had each come to expect the worst… But all these extreme first hand experiences to the contrary warmed our hearts and encouraged us forward!
As for the adventure itself…
We aren’t going to sit here and tell you how it was all sunshine and rainbows… because it wasn’t!
We had shit loads of breakdowns, tons of dangerous situations, illnesses, injuries, arguments, scorching days, freezing nights, sand storms, snow storms, actual storms, forced bribes, going hungry, regularly sleeping rough, and so on.… And we wouldn’t change a minute of it!
Then things got really interesting!
Wherever we went we’d offer to help out if possible, and as word spread we begun to genuinely make a difference in the places we were travelling to!
We helped build an orphanage
We taught Honduran school children
We helped with some much-needed tourism promotion in the world’s murder capital
And helped basically anyone and everyone that we could along the way… And we had the absolute most incredible time doing so!
The journey had taught us 3 very important things…
Despite all the crazy adventures, people we helped and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, the most important takeaway was what we had learned:
Friends make the world better!
Even if you can go it alone, sometimes it just isn’t worth it. So with that in mind…Help others and let yourself be helped
Adventuring is cool. But adventuring with friends and strangers allows you all to teach and learn together, so everyone benefits even more. You learn and grow the most when you’re outside your comfort zone and the odds are stacked against you
You will never know what you’re truly capable of until you genuinely reach your limits - and surpassing these limits is one of the best feelings life has to offer!
And so the Global Convoy was truly born!
We didn’t know it at the time but the year long adventure we’d just completed, the lessons we’d learned and our new mindset had formed a collective single goal for the 3 of us:
To help people to see the world in such a way that helps and grows them as an individual, benefits the people and places they travel to, makes the world more accessible to everyone and helps the Earth at the same time.
This is how the Global Convoy has become what it is today - a community that spans the globe, connects people who are searching for something with those who can help them, and does it’s best every step of the way to make the world a better place for all.
The Global Convoy’s members now span 25 countries and growing!

The takeaway
We all know that life is short. But to make things worse the world is becoming more bubble wrapped, fearful of the unknown and self-damaging every day.
Fuck that… Join us and together lets make the world a little less scary and a little bit better every step of the way - And have a truly fantastic time doing so!
We hope to see you soon!
